A winter steelhead fisherman’s “dream stream”. The Alsea River is a fairly small coastal stream that is west of Philomath , Oregon and runs to the Pacific Ocean at Waldport , Oregon . The run begin in December and continues into February. This is a drift boat only show due to private access water along both banks of the river. Its ideal for conventional and fly tactics and multiple fish days are the norm. I also offer a walk-in winter steelhead fly fishing opportunity on the North Fork of the Alsea River . 10-15 fish days are possible on these day long outings. Most Alsea winter steelhead are of hatchery orgin and weigh between 6 and 8 pounds.
