McKenzie River
The McKenzie River flows cold and clear from its Cascade Mountain headwaters all the way to its confluence with the Willamette River near Eugene , Oregon . Probably best known for its wonderful trout fly fishery and spectacular insect hatches, the McKenzie also hosts a very good summer steelhead run and spring Chinook salmon fishery. I offer guided trips on this river system from late winters March Brown hatch all the through the season until the end of October. All of my trips on the McKenzie are done from my new Clacka-Craft 16’ fly bench model drift boat. This boat provides the safest most comfortable way to maneuver through some of the worlds most famous rapids and white water sections. Fly fishing for trout and steelhead is extremely productive throughout the season. Conventional gear trips are also offered by 5 Rivers Guide Service for the spring Chinook fishery as well as some summer steelhead opportunities.
